Registered Massage Therapy
Registered Massage Therapy is a therapeutic technique that focuses on the manipulation of soft tissue to alleviate pain, reduce tension, and improve overall function. Each massage therapist has a unique approach; mine often includes fascial work (affecting connective tissue that is abundant in the body; if the body is an orange, the white stuff is fascia!) while also incorporating more traditional massage methods such as Swedish, deep tissue, and trigger point therapy. Treatments can always be tailored to your unique threshold for pressure tolerance; and in fact, they should be to get the best results! Some concerns that RMT can help with include:
Muscle Strain (acute and chronic)
Tension Headaches and Migraines
Neck and Back Pain
Chronic Pain (e.g., fibromyalgia, myofascial pain syndrome)
Joint Pain (including temporomandibular joint dysfunction or TMJ)
Sports Injuries (sprains, strains, ligament injuries)
Post-Surgical Recovery and Rehabilitation
Postural Imbalances and Musculoskeletal Dysfunction
Stress and Anxiety (including stress-related muscle tension)
Sleep Disorders (like insomnia or difficulty sleeping)
Arthritis (rheumatoid or osteoarthritis)
Sciatica and Nerve Pain
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Repetitive Strain Injuries
Tendonitis (inflammation of tendons, e.g., rotator cuff)
Sports Recovery (to aid in muscle recovery and performance)
Ankle or Foot Pain (including plantar fasciitis)
Stress-Induced Muscle Tension (e.g., shoulder and upper back tightness)
